Semi-parasitic mass appearing on branches of legumes such as Palo Verde, Mesquite, Ironwood, Acacia.

Contains chlorophyll to make own food.

Gets moisture and minerals from host plant.

Grows 2-3’ wide with small scale-like leaves.

Flowers are yellow-green, small, fragrant.

Fruits berries are small, white to red.

Berries and foliage of some species are toxic.
