Up to 30’ tall with a dense canopy.

Flowers lavender to pink, pollinated by native bees in May.

Fruits are 2” pods with 1-4 brown seeds.

Attracts birds, reptiles, bees, insects, mammals.

Shelters young saguaro and other native plants.

Serves as a great perch for hawks and owls.

One of the largest and longest living Sonoran Desert plants.

Very dense wood, sinks in water.
